Standing directly behind the left tail lamp, this photo looks in through the open hatch, the bottom of which is still latched on. All that stuff in the cargo area was picked up off the street and thrown back in. The spare tire squirted out of its hidey hole and had the air crushed out of it. I wonder if the rim was bent.
The rear seatback is clearly not attached here and all the structural deformaties shoved the right rear seatbelt into plain view. The front seats collapsed from 45 degrees to about 20 degrees. You can see how they tilt in toward the center indicating that the inside latches gave way more. They haven't been moved since the wreck. Anyone in the back -- seatbelts or not! -- would be facing severe head and spinal injuries. The two broken legs would have been the least of their worries.
